Terry Alexander - Vocals
Terry has performed worldwide – from Canada, U.S.A., South Africa, England, France, Belgium, Germany and Italy. The QE2 run – New York – Southampton – New York. This album is the result of his experience and desire to work with the very best talent. Shelly’s arrangements of the chosen songs were arrived after long hours of discussion of what songs to feature – in order to avoid those standards sung in the definitive versions as laid down by those “greats” – Ella, Sarah, Frank etc. Terry then went ahead to produce the sound heard on all the tracks of the album in his own unique style. With this multi-talented group of musicians, Terry found his way easily through all the songs, mixing tempos, cutting back and across the beat – creating their mood and establishing the sound o f truly new contemporary treatment of some "old jewels" – which were taken down from the shelf, dusted off and now gleam in the light of this recording. His collaboration with lyricist Rose Staunton resulted in the title track Watching the Waves one of their many compositions.
